Important summary
- This site gives general information and planning estimates only.
- It is not financial, tax, legal, employment, payroll, benefits or childcare advice.
- It is not affiliated with GOV.UK, HMRC or any childcare provider.
- You should check official guidance, your employer, payroll team and childcare provider before making decisions.
Who we are
Family Money Helper provides UK family money guides, calculators and spreadsheet planners. You can contact us at hello@familymoneyhelper.co.uk.
Using the website
You may use the website for personal, non-commercial family budgeting and planning. You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with how it works, copy substantial parts of it, or use it in a way that could damage the site or other users.
Calculators and guides
The calculators and guides are designed to make complicated family money topics easier to understand. They use broad assumptions and published figures where possible, but your real result may be different.
- Maternity pay can be affected by payroll timing, tax, National Insurance, pension and employer policy.
- Nursery fees can be affected by provider charges, session rules, funded-hours policies and invoice timing.
- Child Benefit can be affected by family circumstances and the High Income Child Benefit Charge.
- Rates, thresholds and rules can change.
No professional advice
Nothing on this website is intended to be financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, employment advice, payroll advice, benefits advice, childcare advice or medical advice. The site is for general information and planning.
Before relying on an estimate, check your own situation with the relevant official source or professional, such as GOV.UK, HMRC, your employer, payroll team, accountant, solicitor, benefits adviser or childcare provider.
Digital products
If you buy a spreadsheet planner, you are buying a digital download. The product page will describe what is included, such as the file formats, tax year, key sheets and any compatibility notes.
- The planner is a budgeting tool, not an exact payroll calculator.
- You are responsible for entering accurate information and checking the results make sense.
- You may use the planner for your own personal household planning.
- You must not resell, share, upload, copy or redistribute the planner as your own product.
Payments and checkout
Payments may be handled by third-party checkout providers such as Payhip or Stripe. Their checkout terms, privacy policies and payment processing rules may also apply.
Prices should be shown before checkout. If VAT or other taxes apply, the checkout provider may calculate and display them during purchase. You should check the total price before paying.
Refunds and cancellation rights
Digital downloads have specific consumer rules. Please read the Refund Policy before buying. If you choose immediate access to a digital download, you may lose the usual 14-day cancellation right once the download or access begins, provided the checkout has made this clear and asked for your agreement.
Accuracy and availability
We try to keep the site useful, clear and up to date, but we cannot promise that every page, rate, calculation or link will always be complete, current or error-free. The website may also be updated, paused or unavailable from time to time.
Third-party links
The website links to third-party sites, including GOV.UK and checkout providers. Those websites have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability or services.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, Family Money Helper is not responsible for losses that arise from using estimates as a substitute for official guidance, professional advice, employer policies, payslips, childcare contracts or your own checks.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the site develops, products change or legal requirements change. The reviewed date at the top will be updated when changes are made.
Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless consumer law gives you rights that cannot be changed by these terms.
